Rebranding for Lush, as part of RMIT's Design studio. The idea behind the concept was to maintain the familiarity of the brand identity but solve its issues of legibility in typography.

A group project, created along with S. Dasgupta, A. Pettigrew, and D. Ramakrishnan.

We set about cleaning the brand up, while retaining the youthful vibrancy in its design. We restricted ourselves to two sans serif typefaces, and focused on patterns and colours to amp up the brand. We also allocated colours to each branch of the brand-fragrances, hair, body and shower- for clearer communication on product packaging.

Lush, as a brand, had a very vivid brand experience and recall, but relatively poor graphics. While the logo itself had high recall value, the typefaces used were unsuitable- they were illegible at a distance, and the cover graphics were very busy. The crowded text and the brimming products in stores did not mix well together.
